This 1 year course provides an introductory understanding of Mechanical Engineering. It will provide you with the skills needed to start your career in industry in a well-paid sector.

The course has a combination of practical and theoretical subjects You’ll learn by problem- solving and enjoying the challenges that you will be given throughout the course. The units are listed below:
- Health & Safety
- Mechanical Principles
- Manufacturing Principles
- Bench fitting
- Turning
- Hydraulics
You will be assessed through written and practical work, assignments and end of year exams. You will gain:
- Level 2 Mechanical Engineering
- Problem solving skills that will support you in your new career
- Maths & English
- Practical skills
Minimum of 4 GCSEs grade D to include Maths at Grade C, English and Science at grade D or above or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area to include to include Maths.
- Progression to Level 3 City & Guilds
- Employment or an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering with leading companies.
Minimum of 4 GCSEs grade D to include Maths at Grade C, English and Science at grade D or above or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area to include to include Maths.
You’ll need to purchase appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at an approximate cost of £40.00, as well as supply your own stationery equipment.
