The 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Bus Pass gives you more

If you only use your My Travel Pass, you may miss out on some big benefits:

£1 takes you further! – By also using a 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ bus pass, you can hop on and off any bus within 90 minutes for just £1. Need to change buses to get to college? No problem! Without a 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ bus pass, you’ll pay £1 for every bus you take, even if it’s part of the same journey. That adds up fast!

Free travel might be yours! – If you are a learner living in Caerphilly County Borough, or if you are facing financial challenges and live in any of our five local authority areas, you could get free travel. A small termly admin fee applies.

Guaranteed access to the 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ travel network  covering all five campuses.

New for 2025/26 – No upfront fees to access the £1 fare.

How to apply for a 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ bus pass

Step 1:
Wherever you live,  start by applying for a My Travel Pass. Your 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ bus pass will only be valid once you have your My Travel Pass.

Step 2: Next steps are based on where you live:

Aged 16 to 18 and live in Newport, Torfaen, Caerphilly or Blaenau Gwent

Apply to your local authority (LA) for bus pass support (contact details below). Some local authorities may require you to create an account with them before you can apply.

Once you’re approved by your local authority, pick up your bus pass from Learner Services when you enrol.

Are you a Caerphilly Borough Council learner? You’ll pay just £10 per term admin fee and travel is  free  thanks to council funding.

Aged 16 to 21 and living in Monmouthshire

Apply for a 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ bus pass when you enrol, collect your termly bus pass from Learner Services and start travelling for £1 per journey.

Aged 19 to 21 and living in Newport, Torfaen, Caerphilly or Blaenau GwentÌýÌý

Apply for a 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ bus pass when you enrol, collect your termly bus pass from Learner Services and start travelling for £1 per journey.

Aged 16 to 18 and refused transport support by your local authority

Aged over 21

You can still join! Pay £40 per term for a 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ bus pass and travel for £1.50 per journey.

If money’s tight, you can apply for support from the Financial Contingency Fund – you might qualify for free travel (just a small termly fee for the pass).
