Course Overview

If you are keen to work on cars and other vehicles, either as a hobby or career, this course is a great starting point. You will learn the basic principles of vehicle restoration and refinishing in a relaxed and friendly workshop environment over a period of ten weeks.

… Those who would like to develop some basic vehicle restoration and refinishing skills.

You will need to be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in motor vehicles. You will have the opportunity to learn about all the processes for repairing and refinishing classic and modern motor vehicles including:

  • Basic dent removal
  • Dent removal using specialist equipment
  • Reinstating panel shapes with the use of body filler
  • Welding
  • Resistance spot welding
  • Paint preparation
  • Masking
  • Application of foundation materials
  • Application of top coats
  • Paint rectification and polishing

During this course you will need suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as boots and overalls.
