Course Overview
This class offers learners the opportunity to experiment with pre-digital photographic techniques. It is structured to take you through several different aspects of analogue photography, giving you the opportunity to explore the studio and traditional darkroom environment using historical practices.
You are creative and have an interest in analogue photography. You would like to take photographs without a digital camera – or any camera at all.
These classes will be structured to be creative, informal, and fun. They will be both darkroom and studio based.
You will have the opportunity to coat paper with cyanotype chemicals and expose them to light to create images.
Make photograms and chemigrams and explore abstract mark making in the darkroom environment.
To build a pinhole camera and use it to take pictures, then print these negatives as positive photographs.
To use a large format camera for portrait and still life photography in the photography studio.
