If you love animals and want to turn that passion into a career, our Animal Care and Management courses are a great place to start. You’ll work hands-on with a variety of animals while learning about health, behaviour, nutrition and welfare. With expert support, you’ll build the skills needed for roles in animal rescue, grooming, pet retail, zoos, or veterinary practices.
Prefer the great outdoors? Our Land-based Studies courses are packed with practical training in estate maintenance, agriculture, and environmental care. You’ll gain hands-on experience with machinery, learn how to manage land and habitats, and develop the skills for careers in farming, land contracting, or conservation. You can also boost your skills with short professional courses like chainsaw handling and pesticide application, giving you industry-recognised qualifications.
If horses are your thing, you’ll feel right at home on our Equine courses. You’ll learn everything from daily horse care and stable management to riding, nutrition, anatomy, and even business skills. Training takes place at our BHS-approved equestrian centre, which includes indoor and outdoor arenas, cross-country schooling, and a working yard. With ride and non-ride options available, you can tailor your learning to suit your career goals – whether that’s working in a riding school, therapy setting, or the wider equine industry.
