Course Overview
This is a fun and creative taught course which offers you the opportunity to explore, develop, design decorate and make a variety of ceramic pieces.
… Someone with a keen interest in ceramics.
… A complete beginner (Wednesday class) or intermediate (Tuesday class).
… Someone with experience and wanting to expand their skills.
Each week, you’ll have the opportunity to widen your experience of ceramic work by trying out a range of techniques such as hand building, throwing, press moulding and glazing techniques. You’ll develop your skills through demonstrations and instruction.
The Tuesday group will be working on hand-building, decorative techniques, press moulding and glazing techniques. It is suitable for learners with some experience who would like to develop their skills.
The Wednesday group will work with basic hand-building and decorative techniques, as well as have a chance to try out throwing on the wheel. It is suitable for complete beginners who would like a taster of different ceramics techniques.
On completion of this course, you’ll have learnt a variety of skills that you can develop and build on, to further your interest in ceramics. You will also have a small collection of pieces for your portfolio, which you can take home with you.
There are no formal entry requirements.
